You are cordially invited to participate in the event, Future of Making: Digital Fabrication Symposium for Designer, Maker, User and Educator on February 20-21, 2017, at The Hotel at Auburn University & Dixon Conference Center, hosted by the Department of Consumer & Design Sciences, College of Human Sciences at Auburn University as an Inspiration Leader.
This multi-dimensional symposium was developed in response to the rapid growth of technologies in digital fabrication and its role in revolutionizing the supply chain in a wide range of fields. In the textile and apparel field, we understand that the products/services sold by Prototyping Solutions and partner, Technical Training Aids, are evolving to hold instrumental position in the future of this industry. At the same time, we are eager to engage further and explore more application potentials in all realms of this field. As Inspiration Leaders, Prototyping Solutions and Technical Training Aids will be exhibiting products and services during day one of the symposium, including workshops on 3D Printing, 3D Project Design, and 3D Scanning before hearing from the key note speaker, the president of Under Armour, talking about the future of “wearable technology”.
We also recognize an urgent need in bridging key stakeholders from both industry and academia of various fields to discuss the future of making. Therefore, as the Inspiration Leaders of this event, Prototyping Solutions and Technical Training Aids will be joining the round table discussion, on day two, to converse with some leading industry peers and influential scholars. The goal is to allow these key stakeholders to discuss the potential of the represented cutting-‐edge technologies, and relevant their near future impacts in the textile and apparel field. The symposium will truly aid industry organization, such as you, in exploring the opportunities for novel technology applications, identifying future talents, as well as the potential relationships with relevant industry peers and educators.
The symposium currently is open for all industry and academia attendees. Please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Lushan (Sarina) Sun in case of questions/concerns at sarinasun@auburn.edu or 334-‐844-‐3789 (o) or Dr. Carol Warfield at warficl@auburn.edu or 334-‐844-‐1329 (o).
