As manufacturing teams move additive production from the prototyping lab to the factory floor, they need a printer that can produce large, strong parts reliably and repeatedly. The F870 is purpose-built for that shift: a large-format FDM printer designed to print jigs, fixtures, and full-scale prototypes on the factory floor.
Large Build Volume.
The F870 has a 1,000 x 610 x 610 mm (39.4 x 24 x 24 in.) build envelope, 372,000 cm3 (22,677 in3), with a fully heated chamber for consistent, high-quality large parts. That is enough room to print full-scale jigs, fixtures, and prototypes in a single build.
Nine Materials at Launch, One Support System.
The F870 launches with nine Stratasys Preferred Materials: FDM® Nylon 12CF™ for high-strength tooling, FDM® ASA in six colors (white, natural, light gray, black, red, and yellow), ABS-M30™ in one color (black), and the new FDM® ABS Draft™ (Gray) for cost-effective large prototypes. A single soluble support material, SR-35™, works across the material lineup, so switching applications does not mean switching support systems. Materials can be swapped in under 20 minutes.
The F870 is designed to fit seamlessly into existing Stratasys FDM operations with a common spool design shared with the F3300®. Using the same high-capacity material spools across both platforms gives manufacturers the flexibility to interchange materials, streamline inventory, and reduce downtime, making it easier to scale production and adapt to changing application requirements.
Uninterrupted Production.
Four onboard dryer bays, two for model material and two for support, use regenerative drying to keep filament at the moisture level it needs for consistent, repeatable prints. Paired with 4,100 cm³ (250 in3) spools and automatic material changeover, the F870 supports up to two weeks of continuous, unattended printing, reducing operator intervention and the material-related variability that can derail a long print. High-Throughput.
Three new “N” style print heads, N14, N20H, and N25, give the F870 flexibility across speed, strength, and resolution. The N25 high-speed head prints ASA up to two times faster than the standard N14 head, so large parts move through production faster without sacrificing accuracy.
